Thursday, May 30th at 7:00 pm Spazio NEA opens the personal exhibition of Matteo Cordero<\/b> entitled “dream little dream<\/b>\u201d presented by shoe designer and art collector Ernesto Esposito<\/b>.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n \u00ad\u00ad\u00adFor the first time in Naples, Matteo Cordero exhibits a series of medium and large format oils and acrylics on canvas, selected exclusively for Spazio NEA.<\/p>\n\n In his work Cordero uses the pictorial activity as a cathartic process: through the fluidity of painting and an automatic approach, he creates different environments, such as simple landscapes or interior of rooms, in which he places figures with strong autobiographical features. These figures represent his alter-ego by which he represents his desires and unconscious emotions as opposed to contemporary society. Authoritative figures who are at the same time powerful leaders and witnesses of the environments in which they live.\r\nHis creative style is a continuous struggle aimed at achieving a balance between form and color and obtained in a surreal way. As a starting point for his work, Cordero reworks and interprets in his style the images of paintings that made art history.\r\n<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n Matteo moves easily and spontaneously in his world of figures and colors. A simple, polite, calm young man, he shows his hidden side in the stories of his paintings. As Paulo Coelho says “The world lies in the hands of those that have the courage to dream and who take the risk of living out their dreams…”. Matteo Cordero\u2019s primary medium is painting. In his works, he creates surrealistic environments, in which he places expressive, often autobiographical, human figures, to evade contemporary society.\r\n<\/span>In 2017, Cordero exhibited a large portrait at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in London curated by Eileen Cooper (RA). In 2018, he had his first solo exhibition at the Public Gallery in East London (Hackney). In 2009, after moving to London, he completed a BA in Creative Advertising at the London College of Communication. In 2016, he graduated with an MA Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art in London.\r\n<\/span>
